Bring a pet themed fat qtr and $1 for the drawing.

Fun with Sharon Phillips

July meeting featured a group sew in with one our own Dogwood Quilters, Sharon Phillips. If you have ever purchased a Hex N More template and didn’t know what to do with it-

This was your class! Honestly I wasn’t interested at first because in my mind HEXY= COMPLICATED but when I heard the word WONKY I was all in!

Also, any class, block, or pattern that uses up scraps from your stash ( a stashbuster) is my favorite! I personally have a deep love for old fashioned quilts made by grannies using scrap fabric, old clothing, and/or flour sacks.

Check out my hexy!

Can’t wait for retreat to finish this one up.

Thanks Sharon!!

Quilt Fair at Shiloh Museum in Springdale

Small Quilt Display

The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale has a wonderful quilt fair on the second Saturday of September every year.

For the last three years they have added a “small quilt” display to the fair curated by our own April Rusch.

The group who previously provided quilts for the display has disbanded, the Dogwood Guild is to provide quilts for the display.

There are no hard and fast rules, and the general guideline for the small quilts is that the quilt be APPROXIMATELY 20 inches x 20 inches or smaller. But there are no quilt police at this fair and it’s likely that several of the placemats some of you made for the what’s for dinner challenge would be more than ideal for the display.
If you would like to join the Guild contact us!

We would be delighted to display your tiny quilt also, bring your submission no later than the September Dogwood guild meeting the first Saturday in September. Feel free to get contact April with any questions you have or aruschar@gmail.com.
